“We started by making cushions and bags from recycled mail sacks.”

Zusss, founded by two sisters, has been around for fifteen years and has grown into a well-known brand with products available in more than 450 points of sale in the Netherlands and Belgium. Femke shares how she transitioned from a background as a nurse to becoming an entrepreneur, starting out by making cushions and bags from recycled mail sacks.

Femke first introduces herself:
“I am Femke, 45 years old and mother of three children. I live in Zevenbergen, a small town near Breda, in the Brabant region. Fifteen years ago, I started the company Zusss together with my sister Sietske.”

We talk with Femke about the importance of maintaining your own brand DNA and building a positive and creative company culture. Femke emphasizes the value of hard work, believing in yourself, and staying true to your own ideas when starting a business.
