Libris and Blz. represent a unique collaboration of over 200 independent bookstores and office supply shops across the Netherlands. Each store has its own distinct character and local presence, yet they are united by a shared passion for books, quality, and personal service. Together, Libris and Blz. celebrate individuality, community, and a deep-rooted love for the written word.
We thought we were good at selling books, but just before the pandemic we partnered with Libris Blz. The impact was immediate: sales and margins soared, our literary range expanded, and we now stock authors we never carried before. The Libris name itself attracts a new audience thanks to its reputation for quality.

Libris is a collective of around 115 independent bookstores working together primarily in purchasing and marketing. What unites these stores is a shared passion for books, a commitment to quality, and deep knowledge of literature. Each Libris bookstore has its own unique character and local identity, yet all offer a wide and carefully curated selection of literary, informative, current, and special-interest titles.
Libris bookstores are known for their extensive book collections, strong local presence, and exceptional customer service. The brand’s motto, Libris – full of books, reflects this dedication. This passion is also evident in Libris’ cultural sponsorships, including the prestigious Libris Literature Prize, which receives national media attention, and the Libris History Prize, which honors outstanding historical works that appeal to a broad audience.

Blz. is a network of approximately 95 independent book and office supply stores. Each store offers a broad assortment of books, stationery, magazines, and greeting cards—always with its own unique look and feel. No two Blz. stores are the same, but all benefit from shared purchasing advantages and professional retail support. Blz. stores combine local knowledge with a welcoming atmosphere and expert advice. Whether you’re looking for a great read, office essentials, or a thoughtful card, Blz. offers a personal and reliable shopping experience.

Connect, discover, and buy at the Libris Blz. Buying Fairs. Held three times a year, these exclusive events for Libris, Blz., and other independent bookstores offer the chance to explore new titles, meet publishers, and place direct orders. Access is limited to registered buyers and exhibitors.
